The Pride heads through Europe
The second day of the expedition began with a visit to Foley Specialist Vehicles in Roydon. Whilst there the team met the mechanics, Paul and Stuart Foley, who kindly helped prepare the two great Land Rovers that will help get the team all the way to Cape Town.
Upon leaving Roydon, the Pride visited The Gateway Academy in Essex. The team were welcomed by an incredible number of staff and pupils, all wishing them the best of luck with their expedition. The pupils spent plenty of time looking around both vehicles and asking many interesting questions to all of the Pride. The visit concluded with Richard presenting a JPR Williams signed rugby ball to link coordinator Ryan Jones. Bhubesi Pride then made their way to France via a ferry from Dover, and headed all the way down to Troyes, where they set up camp for the night after their first full day of travelling.
An early start on Tuesday saw the Pride hit the roads of France before sunrise on the 3rd day of the voyage. The team made good ground, covering the rest of France, passing through Switzerland and over the Alps into Italy. The team is now heading for Ancona where they will get a ferry overnight into Greece en route to Africa.
