Coach rugby and experience Africa on our unique overland expedition. Volunteer and stay at our Malawi community centre, individually or arrange a group visit
This is the story of how an idea – with passion, dedication and a huge collective effort – developed into the exciting and ambitious rugby charity we see today. And the journey’s only just getting going…
The following year Richard led a small team of volunteers on a 6-month, 30,000km overland expedition from London to Cape Town, coaching 3,687 children in 22 schools, up-skilling 33 local teachers.
Since then, Bhubesi Pride Foundation has continued to coordinate annual expeditions, better and more impactful every year. The organisation – registered as a rugby charity in 2013 – is now building on its success and focusing deeper by supporting the development of selected community projects with the help of dedicated volunteers, donors and commercial partners.
We plan to positively impact the lives of thousands of children and hundreds of adults every year, providing life-changing opportunities for the communities we engage.
We often talk about ‘the journey’. It’s a fitting reference for the multi-faceted coaching expeditions we’ve facilitated over the years and how we can all learn along the way, from our preparations, our delivery and our reviews.
In all eight African countries in which we work, we aim to:

We’re introducing children to rugby, helping local coaches to progress sessions and develop programs, while initiating projects we can support and help to sustain.
